Stanshaw seeks a trustworthy and dedicated caretaker or two-person team.  Experience in carpentry and/or alternative building techniques is a plus.  Experience in one or more of the following also is beneficial: plumbing, electrical, gravity water systems, small hydropower systems, permaculture techniques, computers, non-profit development &/or management.  Also beneficial is not having pets that chase or kill wild creatures, and having an allegiance to the commons & future generations. 

Caretaker(s) will exchange labor for housing, utilities, and possibly a stipend for food, clothing, etc.  According to past and present caretakers, working here doesn’t feel like work.  Housing options presently include a self-contained travel trailer, a tepee, or a site for caretaker’s own abode.  In the long-term, materials will be provided for caretaker(s) to build permanent housing.  Caretakers have a flexible schedule with time for hobbies, internet businesses, outside employment, relaxation, recreation, etc.  Caretakers also have use of workshop, garden space, private trails, swimming holes, beaches, etc.
